Dr. Zelieann R. Craig is an Associate Professor in the School of Animal & Comparative Biomedical Sciences. She received her doctorate in Physiological Sciences with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology from The University of Arizona, followed by postdoctoral training in Reproductive Toxicology from the Department of Comparative Biosciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is an Academic Leadership Institute and MENTOR Institute alumna with a strong interest in adaptive and culturally aware leadership and mentoring approaches. 

She is toxicologist focused on understanding how chemicals in our environment influence reproductive health in females. Thus, just like our amazing CALES faculty, she goes above and beyond to balance a strong publication and funding record with making outstanding contributions to teaching, service, and leadership every semester. She has taught over nearly 300 undergraduate and graduate students in the classroom and research laboratory. She has served in faculty searches, advisory committees, journal editorial boards, and scientific society boards. In her School, she has also served as Director of Graduate Studies and led the update of their Annual Performance Review Guidelines. 

As Assistant Dean for Research in CALES she contributes to the strategic leadership of the College and develops programming aimed at maximizing research capacity through workshops, resource development, and one-on-one mentoring of investigators in grant writing and compliance. She prioritizes being an approachable, collaborative, and thoughtful leader.
